Float Information – Bring Your Creativity! Floats are a highlight of the parade! Here’s what to know:
- Safety first: Don’t walk beside moving vehicles or floats unless it’s a people-powered float that requires it. Walk in front of or behind vehicles instead.
- Who can participate: Schools, non-profits, civic organizations, and local businesses are all encouraged to join.
- Theme: All entries should celebrate “America's 250th”.
- Committee rights: We may remove any float or entry considered unsafe or inappropriate.
- Arrival: Floats must be on Reservation Road by 9:30 a.m. Late arrivals cannot be accommodated. Drivers should stay with their vehicles.
- Style: Floats can be simple or elaborate—from decorated trailers to creative, people-powered designs. The most important thing is that they are fun, patriotic, and family-friendly.
- No candy to be thrown from moving vehicles. Candy may only be handed out by people walking the parade.
